Let the Seller Beware - eBay has glitch that takes your Value Pack Bundle discount and removes it when you revise your auction, and then eBay charges you full price for Gallery Plus feature and the Subtitle feature (which is included with the Value Pack).
Well here is the full transcript of my latest experience with eBay's Live (un)Help. They make typos so I'm assuming its not an automated program I was dealing with, but the intelligence level was only about 2 points higher than my Rotty.

Why did I get charged extra for my 2 auction listings I put up yesterday? I signed up for the Value Pack which includes Gallery Plus, Subtitle and Listing Designer, but I only set up options for Gallery Plus and Subtitle, and not Listing Designer so the system kicked out my $0.65 for Value Pack and instead charged me for Gallery Plus and Subtitle seperately so I had to pay $0.20 more than the Value Pack I signed up for. The Value Pack option was set until I made a revision to my auction (I didn't change any features, I just changed text in the item description) and upon submitting the revisions eBay tells me my fees have been updated and the Value Pack for $0.65 was minused and the Gallery Plus and Subtitle were added at full price), but this was only on revision.

Yes the Value Pack was credited back, but I was then charged MORE to have the Gallery Plus and Subtitle which would have been included in the Value Pack that I signed up for. I didn't UN-sign up for the Value Pack at any point. It seems as the eBay would rather have me pay for Gallery Plus and Subtitle than allow me to get the discount available through the Value Pack that I selected for my auctions.

I don't really need a reason why this is happening all of a sudden, I have been signing up for value pack for years without any problems. I sign up for Value Pack and never use the Listing Designer thats included with it because I use my own templates, but that is my choice not to use something that I paid for, but just because I don't use it these 2 times doesn't mean I should have the Value Pack taken away and charged for the Gallery Plus and Subtitle features individually. I really would like to have the $0.20 for each auction (total $0.40) credited back to my account because this is not right by any business standard.

Okay, just create an auction with the value pack feature selected, but don't do anything with the listing designer. After your auction is up, go back and revise anything and before you submit the revisions you will see that Value pack has been taken off and you are now charged for Gallery Plus and Subtitle individually. Its a real simple thing to do, It happened to me twice yesterday.

You know $0.40 cents really isn't that big of deal but its really the principal of being charged individually for something that you signed up for in a bundle discount package such as Value Pack. If this has happened to me then its probably happened to others that use Value Pack and have made minor revisions on their auctions. How much money does eBay stand to make off the thousands of auctions posted to this site per day by charging each seller a couple of cents extra by nullifying the discount bundle packages that we sign up for?

Now this really makes me wonder how many sellers have paid the additional fee when they revised their auctions because of an alleged "glitch" in the system. If eBay runs this glitch for a couple of days they will literally make hundreds of thousands of dollars from sellers by simply removing their discount bundles and charging for auction enhancements individually. Someone needs to investigate this and maybe this is the start of a class action lawsuit to have these illegally obtained fees returned to the sellers. I haven't sold anything on eBay for a week before this happening so who knows how long this "glitch" has been in place.
